Children’s ribbed beanie, knitted bottom-up in Double Sunday (version 8A) or with 2 strands of Sunday for a marled effect (version 8B); each pattern includes both options. Thanks to the Italian cast-on and the ribbing, the beanie is stretchy and stays snugly on the head. 3 mm needles – tension: 29 stitches = 10 cm.
Stitches are cast on with the Italian cast-on, then 2 rounds of double knitting are worked for a stable, flexible edge. The beanie is then worked in ribbing, with decreases for the crown.
The amount of yarn is based on the measurements shown. Allow extra yarn for a larger piece.
