Knit The City Building Blocks - Jake Henzler
Knitting patterns to combine and recreate iconic buildings from major cities
A playful collection of jacquard and intarsia knitting patterns for creating buildings inspired by iconic cities such as London, Paris, Copenhagen, Sydney, Amsterdam, Prague and New York.
Australian designer Jake Henzler, known as Boy Knits World, has created knitted building blocks representing classic buildings from famous cities around the world. The patterns are modular, allowing you to combine them as you wish to create your own unique buildings; for example, you can swap different styles of gables and windows and adapt the style of the buildings to create endless variations.
The buildings are knitted as separate blocks, but can be assembled to make blankets, throws and cushion covers, as well as other accessories and decorative items. Instructions are provided regarding the quantities of wool and the number of blocks needed to complete three projects of different sizes for each city: a large blanket, a baby blanket and a cushion cover; but you can use your knitted building blocks however you like – the world is your oyster!
So, grab your needles and yarn and start your urban adventure with Knit The City right now!
